Are you Looking to start a career in retail but don’t have any work experience? The Shoprite Retail Readiness Programme (RRP) 2025 is a free skills development opportunity designed specifically for young South Africans who are unemployed and eager to gain entry-level retail experience.
This training programme helps participants build the essential skills needed to succeed in a retail environment, offering both classroom learning and hands-on in-store experience. Upon successful completion, learners receive a National Certificate in Wholesale and Retail Operations (NQF Level 2).
What Does the Shoprite RRP Include?
The Retail Readiness Programme runs for 7 weeks and includes:
- 3 weeks of theoretical training, covering topics like customer service, store operations, safety, and professionalism
- 4 weeks of practical, in-store training at a Shoprite store, gaining real work experience
Who Can Apply for the Shoprite RRP 2025?
To qualify for the Shoprite Retail Readiness Programme, you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 34 years old
- Be currently unemployed
- Have no previous formal work experience
Minimum Requirements
- A Grade 10 pass (or equivalent) is required
- A Matric certificate (Grade 12) is an advantage but not mandatory
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced retail setting
