Responsibilities
As a participant in the SGS YES Learnership program, you will be exposed to a wide range of real-world tasks in both laboratory and field settings. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning up the site or workshop after tasks are completed, ensuring the area is free of consumables such as masking tapes, tins, etc.
- Adhering strictly to the quality and safety protocols as outlined in the SGS Management System.
- Reporting any deviations, irregularities, or non-conformances orally to your supervisor.
- Performing laboratory and field work, including sampling, data analysis, and accurate execution of testing methods.
- Carrying out any reasonable duties assigned by the authorized site supervisor, laboratory manager, or regional manager.
- Upholding discipline, professionalism, and work ethic within your assigned department.
Minimum Requirements for SGS YES Learnerships 2025
To qualify for the SGS YES Learnership opportunity in Durban, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have completed Grade 12 (Matric), preferably with Mathematics.
- Proficient in English (spoken and written).
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.
- Aged between 18 and 30 years old.
- Must be currently unemployed and not previously participated in a YES program.
- Must have no criminal record.
- Willingness to relocate to Durban for the duration of the learnership.
Skills and Competencies
