Purpose of the Millwright Apprenticeship
The Sasol Millwright Learnership Programme is designed to equip learners with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to qualify as a certified Millwright artisan. The programme aligns with the standards set by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB).
Key Responsibilities and Training Exposure
Successful applicants will receive extensive workplace-based training, including exposure to:
- Maintenance of plant and equipment according to millwright standards
- Interpretation and use of plant maintenance documentation systems
- Planning, scheduling and work management systems
- Compliance with safety management systems and emergency procedures
- Hazard identification and task risk assessments
- Participation in toolbox talks and daily safety meetings
- Root cause analysis and risk mitigation to improve plant safety
- Housekeeping standards and proper waste management practices
- Reporting work progress and feedback to supervisors
- Contribution to maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Sasol Millwright Learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completed Matric, N3 or an equivalent qualification
- Passes in Mathematics, Physical Science and English
- 0–1 year of relevant work experience
