Are you passionate about road safety and looking for a career in law enforcement? The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety invites qualified South African youth to apply for the Traffic Officer Learnership Programme 2025.
This 12-month structured training programme is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a formal qualification in traffic law enforcement — one of the most vital public service careers in South Africa.
Learnership Location and Post Availability – Limpopo, South Africa
Successful candidates will be placed across the five districts of Limpopo Province:
- Capricorn District – 31 Posts
- Sekhukhune District – 33 Posts
- Mopani District – 32 Posts
- Vhembe District – 31 Posts
- Waterberg District – 27 Posts
Minimum Requirements for Traffic Officer Learnerships 2025
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- Be aged between 18 and 35 years old
- Possess a valid Code B manual driving licence
- Have no criminal record
- No visible tattoos
- Submit a medical certificate proving physical fitness for strenuous activities
- Not be declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of the Firearm Control Act (2000)
- Be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays (24/7 availability)
- Be a South African citizen with valid ID documentation
Essential Skills and Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate:
- The ability to drive a motor vehicle confidently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Discipline, professionalism, and a willingness to learn
