Purpose of the Marula Platinum Mine Learnerships 2025
The primary goal of the Marula Learnership Programme 2025 is to train successful candidates through a structured learning journey to become qualified artisans. You will receive both on-the-job training and formal theoretical education in a mining environment.
- Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this artisan learnership, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / STD 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent – Compulsory
- Minimum N2 Certificate with four (4) relevant subjects OR NCV Level 4 – Compulsory
- Must be medically fit with a valid Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate)
- Complete a Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)
- Pass a psychometric assessment, knowledge test, and attend a formal interview
Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a learnership candidate at Marula Platinum Mine, your key duties will include:
- Undergo training to qualify as an artisan through structured on-site and classroom-based learning
- Assist qualified artisans with maintenance, repair, and replacement of engineering equipment
- Perform technical work applying basic engineering principles
- Complete all engineering training phases as part of the learnership curriculum
- Learn and comply with Marula Mine safety standards, rules, and procedures
- Work closely under supervision of a coach, artisan, or foreman
- Participate in problem-solving and basic fault diagnostics
- Maintain equipment to ensure production efficiency and minimize downtime
- Gain exposure to supervisory responsibilities in a controlled environment
