Rand Water, one of South Africa’s largest bulk water suppliers, is inviting applications for its Procurement Officer Learnership Programme 2025–2026. This exciting 18-month learnership offers unemployed South African youth the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience, skills, and knowledge in procurement and supply chain management.

- Learnership Title: Supply Chain Practitioner
- Duration: 18 Months
- Number of Positions: 10 (including 5 positions reserved for people with disabilities)

Purpose of the Rand Water Learnership Programme
The Rand Water Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership aims to equip learners with the skills and practical experience required to become competent Procurement Officers within the organisation and the broader public sector.
Upon completion of the learnership, participants will be able to:
- Coordinate the procurement and supply of goods and services
- Manage supplier contracts and conduct negotiations effectively
- Implement and monitor procurement schedules and operational plans
- Apply procurement policies and best practices in line with national standards
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Rand Water Learnership Opportunities 2025–2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be unemployed and not currently enrolled in any other learnership, internship, or academic programme
- Must not hold a post-matric qualification (failure to disclose this will lead to disqualification)
- Must have completed Matric (Grade 12) with the following minimum subjects:
- Mathematical Literacy: Level 4 or higher
- English: Level 4 or higher
- Must provide a SAQA/NLRD verification report (available from the SAQA website)
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old, in line with the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS III)
Additional Requirements for People with Disabilities (PWDs)
Rand Water is committed to promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities. Five positions within this programme are specifically reserved for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
PWD applicants must also provide:
- A medical certificate or signed ITRDD13 form confirming their disability
- Applicants who are deaf or hard of hearing must arrange for their own interpreter (at their own expense)
