Learnership Location:

The 2025 learnership opportunity is based at AfriSam’s Eikenhof Quarry, where learners will be exposed to real-world work environments and guided by experienced industry professionals.

To participate in the programme, successful candidates will be required to sign an 18.2 Learnership Agreement, which will also be registered with the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA).

Who Should Apply for the 2025 AfriSam Learnerships programme?

AfriSam is looking for unemployed youth who are passionate about engineering and meet the following qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with:
    • Pure Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
    • Physical Science
    • English
  • OR N2 Certificate including:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Two additional relevant trade-related subjects
  • OR Engineering NCV Certificate with:
    • Seven subjects at NQF Level 4
  • OR Technical Grade 11 with:
    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • Language
    • Relevant trade theory
  • OR N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma in a directly related engineering field (T, S, or N stream)

NB: A valid driver’s license will strengthen your application.

Required Documents:

  • A detailed CV/resume
  • A certified copy of your South African Identity Document (ID)
  • Your Grade 12 results or equivalent qualification results
