About the Triton Academy Freight Handling Learnership Programme 2025

The National Certificate: Freight Handling offered by Triton Academy is a comprehensive learnership that combines structured theoretical learning with real-world practical experience. It aims to prepare participants for long-term careers in the logistics, warehousing, and transportation sectors.

Key Learnership Responsibilities & Training Activities

Successful learners will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Loading and unloading freight from delivery vehicles
  • Preparing transport vehicles for daily operations
  • Managing inbound and outbound freight documentation
  • Handling stock picking, packing, and safe stacking
  • Performing general warehouse and transport-related duties
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance during goods handling
  • Receiving and verifying deliveries against documentation
  • Delivery and collection of goods
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas
  • Participating in structured classroom and on-site training
  • Preparing for assessments and external certification

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Triton Academy Learnership Programme 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Aged between 23 and 35 years
  • Hold a Grade 12, TVET N3, or NQF Level 2 qualification
  • Achieved at least 40% in Mathematics and English
  • Be medically fit and physically capable of handling manual tasks
  • Have basic English literacy and numerical skills
  • Be willing to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours
  • Have a clear criminal record
  • Reside in Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, or Johannesburg
  • Available to work between 08:00 – 18:00

Preferred but Not Essential Qualifications

The following attributes are advantageous but not mandatory:

  • Basic computer literacy
  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or freight handling
