About the South African Weather Service (SAWS) Learnerships 2025

The SAWS WIL Programme is a structured workplace learning initiative tailored to TVET College students who need in-service training to complete their National N Diploma. Participants will be placed at SAWS offices in Centurion, Gauteng, and exposed to real-world tasks that will enhance their practical skills and job readiness.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the SAWS Work Integrated Learning Programme 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Must have completed N6 in Management Assistant at a public TVET College.
  • Unemployment Status:
    • Must be unemployed for less than 12 months after completing the N6 qualification.
  • Required Documents:
    • A certified copy of your Certificate of Achievement (N6).
    • An official letter from your college confirming the requirement for 18 months of work experience to complete your National Diploma.
  • A comprehensive and up-to-date CV, clearly outlining:
    • Full name
    • South African ID number
    • Contact details
    • Residential address
  • Disability Inclusion:
    • SAWS encourages applications from people living with disabilities.
    • Applicants in this category must include a medical certificate or letter from a doctor confirming the nature of the disability.

Stipend and Financial Considerations

  • Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R5,500 to assist with basic living costs.
  • Please note: Accommodation and transportation to and from SAWS offices in Centurion are not provided and must be arranged by the learner.
  • There is no guarantee of permanent employment at SAWS after the completion of the programme.
