Are you passionate about caring for others and ready to start your journey in the healthcare field? The Gauteng College of Nursing invites applications for the 2025 Student Nurse Intake. Successful candidates will study towards a Diploma in Nursing (General Nurse), starting in 2026, at one of the college’s four campuses:
- Ann Latsky Campus
- Chris Hani Baragwanath Campus
- SG Lourens Campus
- Bonalesedi Campus
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the 2025 Gauteng Nursing Intake, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen and resident of Gauteng Province.
- Have one of the following educational qualifications:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- National Senior Certificate (NSC)
- Currently in Grade 12 (based on final Grade 11 results)
- National Vocational Certificate: Primary Health
Required Subjects & Academic Criteria
Senior Certificate (Matric) Requirements:
- English: HG D or SG C
- Biology: HG D or SG C
- Mathematics: HG D or SG C
- Minimum M-score of 17
National Senior Certificate (NSC) Requirements:
- English: Level 4
- Life Sciences: Level 4
- Mathematics: Level 4 or Maths Literacy: Level 5
- Minimum APS score of 27 (Note: Life Orientation counts for 50%)
National Vocational Certificate:
- 50% in Fundamental Subjects:
- English (FAL)
- Maths/Maths Literacy
- Life Orientation
- 60% in Vocational Subjects:
- SA Healthcare System
- Public Health
- The Human Body and Mind
- Community-Oriented Primary Care

1. Register and create a profile on the GPG Professional Job Centre system: https://jobs.gauteng.gov.za
2. Apply online through the system before or on 26 September 2025.
3. Upload all required supporting documents during the online application.
4. If shortlisted, you will be contacted to bring physical copies to the selection centre.
